How To Throw The Ultimate Autumn Party
While the season of summer barbecues may be coming to a close, the warm Texas weather means that hosting outdoor celebrations can continue well into the fall. At Perry Homes, we want to help you revamp your summer parties into autumn bashes. Follow these steps below and you and your guests will "fall" into fun!
Fall Decor
There is more that makes up a fall party than simply gathering friends during October and November. In order to help partygoers get into the spirit of the season, you must create a fall atmosphere. One of the easiest ways to create this ambience is by buying party favors that are red, orange and brown. This color scheme will be immediately recognizable to your guests as fall-themed and will provide an excellent foundation for the rest of your party decor.
There is only one item that signals autumn more than changing leaves: pumpkins! There are plenty of clever ways to include pumpkins into your decor, as they come in a multitude of different sizes and shapes that can be arranged to your liking. You may even consider having your guests carve Jack-O-Lanterns or paint pumpkins as a fun party activity!
Themed Snacks
Once you have the fall aura mastered, keep the theme running strong with fall-themed food and refreshments. Fun fall snacks often include foods such as pumpkin, caramel, and candy corn. Listed below is a recipe for a fun, no-bake recipe for cute butterscotch haystack candy treats:
Ingredients
– 1 1/2 cups butterscotch candy morsels an 11-oz bag
– 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
– 3 cups crunchy chow mein noodles
– small candy pumpkins for garnish if desired
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, melt the morsels and the peanut butter in the microwave
2. Mix in the chow mein noodles
3. Use tablespoon to drop onto wax-paper lined baking sheet, and shape into haystacks
4. Press 1 pumpkin against each haystack, if desired
5. Refrigerate until cool and firm
6. Store in refrigerator

Fun Around the Fire
One of the most common and fun activities you can partake in during fall weather is a campfire. Once the sun begins setting and the weather cools off, start a fire and get the s’mores ready. If you do not have a fire pit built into your backyard, consider purchasing an above-ground pit or a chiminea. Guests will have an excellent time roasting marshmallows and telling stories by the glow of a fire.
Prepare For Bugs
Nothing ruins a party more quickly than guests being bitten by mosquitoes and other insects. Even though summer is over, winter has yet to settle in and there are still bugs in the Texas outdoors. Stay prepared in your festivities by purchasing bug repellents to place strategically throughout your party area. Citronella candles are a cute way to keep your party bug-free while keeping your fall decor thematic.
